    1 Hours. An introductory course for all students in conducting; covering basic problems for the beginning conductor, basic rehearsal technique, tempo, expression, feeling and duplicating metronome markings. Individual attention stressed and class participation encouraged in critiques.

    2 Hours. Introduction to the basic techniques and methods for wind, brass, string, fretted and percussion instruments. A functional knowledge of each instrument will be expected, and students will play an instrument from each type and demonstrate beginning proficiency on that instrument.
