MATH 1313 - Introduction to Statistics #

3 Credit Hours
Students will interpret information presented pictorially in graphs, histograms, and pie charts.  They will learn measures of central tendency, variability, basic probability concepts, including the binomial and normal distributions. They will use sampling distributions to construct confidence intervals and do hypothesis testing for population means and proportions.  Students will estimate a regression line and correlation coefficient for scatter plot data.
Restrictions: Placement and enrollment in this course is based on ACT and/or CPT scores, or a combination of ACT and high school grades in mathematics.
