This rotation affords the PA student a unique and essential learning experience by allowing the student to learn the importance of medical and surgical triage, hone clinical thinking skills, and developed the ability work effectively under stressful conditions. Throughout the course of this rotation, the student will observe, participate, and interact with the ED physician and staff to evaluate critically ill and injured patients through the collection of historical, physical, and laboratory/radiographic data, formulating differential diagnoses, and discussions of treatment modalities.
Restrictions: Acceptance into the Physician Assistant Studies program with successful completion of the didactic year; Cumulative 3.0 GPA; and permission from PAS Program Director.
