Description: Students will gain a basic understanding of health care informatics including computer hardware, network architecture, clinical application of electronic health records, and health care software applications. Students will apply informatics knowledge to relevant regulatory, patient privacy, security, and reimbursement concepts in the study of current trends and emerging issues in health care.

Prerequisite: HCA 3003 Principles of Health Organizations Administration, IS 3063 Principles of Information Systems, and BADM 3933 Business Statistics with a minimum grade of C.
