EDUC 4353 - Secondary Teaching Methods and Practices


Description: Students learn how to interpret the theory and knowledge bases of secondary education, present instructional materials, teach for the diverse classroom, assess resource materials, and write specific lesson objectives to teach across the curriculum.  Students learn how to use current teaching strategies to assess student performance, apply motivational techniques, critique and utilize classroom management effectively.  Secondary Teaching Methods and Practices is a professional education course required of all future/present middle school, junior high, and high school teachers.

Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite: EDUC 3313 Clinical Teaching/Pre-Internship I and EDUC 3113 Educational Psychology with a minimum grade of C.
Co-requisite: EDUC 4032 Pre-Internship II.
Restrictions: Admission to Teacher Education or completion of an undergraduate degree.
