International Business Major B.B.A. - Major Code 1576 (1577/1578/1579/1580)

Business Administration General Information

The International Business major has been developed for students who are actively seeking to focus their education on the global dimensions of business. The International Business major has the objective of providing students with a solid basic business education and knowledge of the international dimensions of business. In addition to IBUS courses, students also choose an area of specialization to obtain depth in a field of business (e.g., marketing, finance, management, etc.) that will complement the international training and assist them in obtaining a first job.

It is recommended that students in the International Business major select their elective courses from the following areas:

  1. Foreign Languages (3000-4000 level)
  2. University credits resulting from study abroad (requires prior approval of university)
  3. International Business Internship (maximum of 6 hours requires prior approval).
  4. Additional upper division courses in any of the functional areas available for specialization, namely: Accounting, Marketing, Management, Finance, IS, HTM and Economics.

Business General Education Requirements

A minimum of 49 hours of academic work in general education is required during the freshman and sophomore years.  For students transferring with the Associate of Arts degree or Associate of Science degree from a public institution in Oklahoma, all general education requirements will be satisfied with respect to degree requirements.  However, some majors may require other specific general education courses as program prerequisites or program requirements.  Students should consult advisors and the program’s plan of study for futher information.  Students are required to complete general education requirements by the time they have completed 90 semester hours of college work.  General Education Requirements for Bachelor’s Degrees
