Graduate College

The graduate programs are an extension of the overall instructional program and are under the general supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. They are administered by the Dean of the Graduate College, who serves as Chairperson of the Graduate Council. Advisement, committee assignment, instruction, and monitoring capstone projects at the graduate level are performed by the graduate faculty.
Graduate degree and certificate programs are offered on the main campus at Tahlequah, and at branch campuses in Muskogee and Broken Arrow. Selected graduate courses are also offered through Weekend College. Northeastern State University offers four master’s degrees with several degree areas. They are:

An application for graduate admission must be completed prior to enrollment in any 5000 level class. The application should be completed and returned to the Graduate College at least one month prior to enrollment in any graduate course work. One transcript of all previous course work must be sent directly from the school(s) attended to the Graduate College, Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, OK 74464-2399. Earlier application dates and additional application materials are required for admission to several degree programs.
The minimum requirements for regular admission to the Graduate College are: an earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; grade point average of 2.5 based on a 4.0 scale on all undergraduate course work attempted; or a 2.75 based on a 4.0 scale in the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate course work attempted; submission of scores on an appropriate admission test.
