PHYS 3413 - Thermal Physics #

3 Credit Hours
Students will explore thermal physics and its microscopic foundation using statistical methods. Topics include laws of thermodynamics, thermodynamic processes and properties of materials, statistical formulation of thermodynamics, ensemble theory, Boltzmann distribution, Fermi-Dirac statistics, and Bose-Einstein statistics.
Prerequisite: PHYS 2215 Engineering Physics II and MATH 2633 Calculus III.
