SPED 4233 - Instructional Strategies for Students with Disabilities

3 Credit Hours
Develop instructional strategies and effective techniques for teaching students with disabilities in a variety of general and special education settings.  Course objectives target remediation and progression of skills focused around an academic curriculum for students with disabilities.  Special emphasis will be on reading remediation and the development of language arts instructional methods for students with disabilities.  An observational field experience will be included in order to experience developing a Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plan.
Prerequisite: EDUC 3113 Educational Psychology and  EDUC 3313 Clinical Teaching & Pre-Internship I with a minimum grade of C or concurrent enrollment, AND SPED 4223 Instructional Design and Curriculum for Students with Disabilities with a minimum grade of C.
Restrictions: Minimum 2.75 GPA.
