ECED 3623 - Challenges in the Family3 Credit Hours Students will develop an understanding of family and community as central to working with birth to three aged children. This strengths-based approach to working with parents of young children includes examining community resources that enable diverse families to successfully deal with crises. The students will explore what is meant by family crises, including the study of major theoretical frameworks for studying families in crises and consider major life-style transitions and catastrophic crises families face. Prerequisite: PSYC 1003 Introduction to Human Behavior or PSYC 1113 Introduction to Psychology with a minimum grade of C.
