FIN 3213 - Principles of Finance

Description: Students discuss the responsibilities of corporate managers, the dynamics of risk and required rate of return, debt and equity tradeoff,  working capital management, corporate governance and ethics as well as the impact of taxes on business decisions. Students use financial statements, financial ratios and time value of money techniques; estimate cash flows, calculate cost of capital, and apply capital budgeting tools to make long-term investment decisions; forecast financial needs, value corporate securities, develop measures of management performance; and manage challenges of financial managers in a global setting.

Prerequisite: ACCT 2103 Intro to Financial Accounting, ACCT 2203 Intro to Managerial Accounting, MATH 1513 College Algebra or MATH 1523 Functions and Change with a minimum grade of C or Math ACT score of 23 or higher, ECON 2213 Prin of Microeconomics and ECON 2313 Prin of Macroeconomics with a minimum grade of C.
