NUTR 3113 - Consumer Issues # CIP Code: 513101
Description: Students will pursue studies of consumer decision making related to functional and integrative nutrition, including the guiding principles of practice. Students will learn how integrative and functional nutrition is applied in practice and explore benefits related to personal daily nutrition decisions. Students will analyze the prevalence of use of dietary supplements among Americans; FDA’s guidance documents and regulatory information; risk management; clinical and client decision making; and ethical, legal and scientific integrity considerations for nutrition.
Credit Hours: 3 Contact Hours:
Prerequisite: NUTR 1653 Basic Nutrition with a minimum grade of C.
