PAS 5714 - Surgical Medicine Rotation I

Description: The student will learn basic surgical techniques in the operating suites, pre- and post-operative examinations, performing minor procedures and assisting in general surgeries. The student may be exposed to various in-house and out-patient surgical clinics.

Co-requisite: May be taken in the same semester as PAS 5784 Surgical Medicine Rotation II for which it is a prerequisite, as each is a four week rotation; PAS 5714 Surgical Medicine Rotation I would be done first within the semester.
Restrictions: Acceptance into the Physician Assistant Studies program with successful completion of didactic year; Cumulative 3.0 GPA; and permission from PAS Program Director.
