NURS 4294 - Professional Nursing Synthesis

Description: Students apply professional nursing skills and concepts developed throughout the nursing program with an emphasis on evidence-based practice. This course provides an opportunity to collaborate with a preceptor in an area of choice that reflects professional goals. Requires a total of 64 field experience hours during the course.

Credit Hours: 4
Prerequisite: NURS 3003 Professional Nursing Role, NURS 3053 Health Assessment, NURS 3102 Cultural Competency in Nursing, NURS 3204 Family Health Nursing, NURS 4003 Current Trends and Issues in Nursing, NURS 4102 Fundamentals of Nursing Research, NURS 4115 Community Health Nursing, and NURS 4214 Leadership & Management in Nursing with a minimum grade of C or concurrent enrollment.
Restrictions: Admission to nursing major or permission of instructor is required. Students must have completed the credentialing process, a preceptor agreement, and have an approved facility contract prior to enrolling in this course.
Note: Requires a total of 64 field experience hours over the semester.
