SPED 4233 - Instructional Strategies for Students with Disabilities CIP Code: 131011 Description: Students learn how to develop instructional strategies and effective techniques for teaching students with disabilities, target remediation and progress of skills focused around an academic curriculum in a variety of general and special education settings. Special emphasis will be on reading remediation and the development of language arts instructional methods. An observational field experience will be included in order to experience developing a Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plan.
Credit Hours: 3 Prerequisite: EDUC 3113 Educational Psychology and EDUC 3313 Clinical Teaching & Pre-Internship I with a minimum grade of C or concurrent enrollment, AND SPED 4223 Instructional Design and Curriculum for Students with Disabilities with a minimum grade of C. Restrictions: Minimum 2.50 GPA.
