SPED 3363 - Community/Career Seminar in American Sign Language


Description: Students explore various professions with and in the service to the Deaf community.  Students will observe and serve the Deaf community in areas such as Deaf education, interpreting, rehabilitation, social services, independent living, support service provision for the deaf-blind, counseling, speech-language pathology/audiology, deaf ministry, deaf senior services, etc., with special emphasis on areas that relate to the students’ major area of study.  Students will serve the Deaf community in various events throughout the semester.

Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite: SPED 3313 ASL I, SPED 3323 ASL II, SPED 3333 ASL III, SPED 3343 ASL IV, and SPED 3353 Deaf Culture with a minimum grade of C.
