CHEM 4623 - Quantum Chemistry and Dynamics

Description: Students describe chemical systems using quantum mechanics and chemical dynamics. Quantum chemistry topics include simple quantum mechanical systems, atomic and molecular structure, bonding, and interactions with electromagnetic radiation. Chemical dynamics topics include measuring reaction rates, determining rate laws, relating rate laws to mechanisms, transition state theory, and transport properties. This is a fundamental course in physical chemistry for students majoring in chemistry and related fields.
