AIS 4443 - Native American Film and Media Description: In this course, students will learn about media literacy and visual competency as well as cultural appropriation from and cultural resistance by Native peoples. They will critically examine various texts (film, television, print) and its (mis)representation of Native peoples. Students will also investigate media contributions by Native peoples and discuss the impact of how this media reflects these communities and how a wider audience might respond.
Credit Hours: 3 Cross-listed: ENGL 4443. Note: Credit cannot be earned in both AIS 4443 and ENGL 4443. LAS Course: Yes
