Description: Students will learn current concepts in the field of virology, including the structure, genetic material, and replication strategies of various viruses. The course will emphasize the common reactions that must be completed by all viruses for successful reproduction within a host cell and survival and spread within a host population. Additionally, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of viral diseases will also be covered.
