PAS 5551 - Interprofessional Education CIP Code: 510912 Description: The student will learn values and ethics for interprofessional practice by working with individuals from other professions in an interdisciplinary practice setting to maintain a climate of mutual respect and shared values. Students will learn the roles and responsibilities of their own profession as well as those from other professions to appropriately assess and address the health care needs of patients and to promote and advance population health. Students will also develop interprofessional communication skills by working with patients, families, and health professionals. The student will also apply relationship-building values and principles of team dynamics to perform effectively in different team roles to plan, deliver, and evaluate patient/population-centered care and population health programs and polices that are safe, timely, efficient, effective and equitable.
Credit Hours: 1 Lecture contact hours per week: Lecture: 1 Restrictions: Acceptance into the Physician Assistant Studies program. Note: May be repeated for a total of 3 credit hours.
