Description: Students will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the foundational ideas and institutions that have shaped the Western cultural tradition from the seventeenth century to the present day, with an emphasis on the European foundations of Western culture, including the growth of nationalism, development of political, social and economic institutions, and the problems facing the Western Nations in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Additionally, they will develop essential workforce readiness skills, such as communication, critical thinking, effective writing, active listening, digital literacy, and information literacy, necessary to articulate historical events’ significance in Western Civilization.
