HIST 2723 - Modern World Civilizations since 1500

Description: Students will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the interactions between Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas since 1500. Students will examine the development of the world economic system, the diffusion of religious and scientific ideas, the Industrial Revolution, Imperialism and resistance, the international conflicts of the 20th Century, the Cold War, Decolonization, and Globalization. Students will engage in a comparative analysis of the causes of social, cultural, economic, and political developmental patterns and the dynamics of change over time. Additionally, they will develop essential workforce readiness skills, such as communication, critical thinking, effective writing, active listening, digital literacy, and information literacy, necessary to articulate historical events’ significance in world history.
