ECED 5563 - Diversity Issues in Early Childhood

3 Hours. Examine issues related to diversity in early childhood education including race, culture, social class, gender, age, sexual orientation, inclusion and religion; analyze the construct of personal cultural identity and its significance when working with children and families who differ from the candidate; design a curriculum model that creates a respectful and supportive environment for a diverse and multicultural group of children; and develop a strategic plan for engaging and communicating with families that facilitates respectful, reciprocal relationships and empowers diverse and multicultural families.
