PSYC 5293 - Pharmacology of Substance Abuse

3 Hours. Psychological, neurophysiological, and sociological effects of mood/behavior altering substances and their implications on addiction counseling are discussed. Examination of the pharmacokinetics of drug action(s); the side effects of psychoactive and psychotherapeutic drugs; the development of tolerance, dependency/withdrawal, cross addiction(s).
