The student who expects to enter a school of engineering should declare intent immediately and be assigned an engineering adviser. Early engineering advisement is essential. The mathematics sequence should be started with the first enrollment at a course level determined by the mathematics background of the student. The student should deviate from the following list of specific courses only if recommended by the engineering advisor. Requirements for a degree vary by area of specialization and institution.

Most programs require 6-12 hours of humanities and/or social science. Additional courses in chemistry and a course in computer science may also be required. Suggested Sequencing
