Pre-Occupational Therapy

The Pre-Occupational Therapy program is designed to meet the requirements of the Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. The applicant must have completed a minimum of 90 hours with a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum C grade in each required course. To be considered for admission to OU the applicant must complete a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, OR complete requirements to be eligible to earn the B.S. in Health Studies degree after completion of 30 hours in the program. Applicants must observe a minimum of 40 hours in an occupational therapy setting and take the Graduate Record Exam prior to the February 1 application date. Early admission is available.

Minimum Requirements
- Select one upper Division Gen Ed Course (must be 3000 level or higher) 3 hours
- Foreign Languages (2 courses in same language or 2 years of same language in high school) 6 hours
Electives
- Select one science elective class 3 hours
Select one of the following Non Western Culture classes 3 hours
Select one of the following Artistic Forms classes 3 hours
Recommended courses to reach the 90 hour minimum
(If you took 2 yrs of the same language in high school you will need 9 recommended classes if you take foreign language in college you only need 7 of the recommended courses to reach the 90 hour minimum) Liberal Arts and Science Courses
