World History Advanced Electives 3 hours

chosen from one or two of the following areas:
- Geography,
- History,
- Political Science,
- Psychology, or
- Sociology
Note
At least 24 hours of advanced (3000/4000) courses are required on the Social Studies Education major-minor. Twenty-four hours of this major-minor must be earned at NSU. Professional Education 29 hours

Liberal Arts and Science Courses

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY: |
English proficiency is a graduation requirement. Components I and II of English proficiency should be met with grades of “C” or better prior to the completion of 60 credit hours. |
UPPER DIVISION CREDIT: |
Total hours must include at least 40 hours of credit in courses numbered 3000 or above. |
LIBERAL ARTS & SCIENCES: |
At least 80 semester credit hours are required in the Liberal Arts and Sciences. This major, together with general education and professional education hours, provides for 80 hours. |
COMPETENCY IN A LANGUAGE
OTHER THAN ENGLISH: |
All students must demonstrate proficiency at the high novice level in a language other than English. |
PROFESSIONAL PORTFOLIO: |
All students pursuing Initial and advanced teacher certification are required to develop a portfolio which documents their accomplishments, learning, and strengths related to the competencies, standards, and outcomes established by the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation, Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and the Oklahoma Sate Department of Education. |
