The Bachelor of Arts in American Indian Studies is designed for all persons interested in the cultural heritage and history of American Indian peoples. The major is a multi-disciplinary liberal arts program with required courses in anthropology, history, literature, and political science or criminal justice. Electives can be chosen from a broad choice of subjects which focus on Native Americans and their experiences as well as their influences within society.
American Indian Studies majors must also select a minor or a second major. Suggested minors include: anthropology, business administration, criminal justice, health care administration, history, hospitality and tourism management, paralegal studies, public administration, sociology, and social welfare. A student may want to consider selecting a second major in one of the above areas, or combining American Indian Studies with another appropriate major.
