    3 Hours. Introduction to the principles and fundamentals of two-dimensional design using various media.  Emphasis placed on developing creative solutions to a series of design projects.  Credit cannot be earned under both VCOM and ART Dual-listed: ART 1233
  
  • VCOM 1273 - Graphic Design I #

    3 Hours. An overview of graphic design history, visual principles, and tools used by graphic designers.  Analysis and production of designs for varying media.  Prerequisite: ART 1233, 2013, 2213 Credit cannot be earned under both VCOM and ART Dual-listed: ART 1273
  
  • VCOM 2403 - Introduction to Web Design #

    3 Hours. An introductory course designed to acquaint students with techniques and technologies of website design and construction through hands-on training. Credit cannot be earned under both VCOM and Media Studies. Dual-listed: MS 2403
  
  • VCOM 3103 - Introduction to Photography #

    3 Hours. Introduction to fine art photography.  Students will learn how and why photography works as they understand basic camera operation, the principles of  composition, the materials and processes used in photography, and exposure and developing techniques.   • VCOM 3203 - Digital Darkroom

    3 Hours. Course provides study of image enhancement software and techniques that apply to the creation, manipulation, enhancement, and output of digital images as it relates to various media.

    1 Hours. Topic identification and literature review for scholarly activity. Prerequisite: Honors student, Junior standing or above.

  • VCOM 4813 - Advanced Photography Tour #

    3 Hours. Tour-centered course of on-location photography, explores the urban/rural landscape through the medium of digital photography.  The course addresses location photography challenges and opportunities for image making.

    3 Hours. Feminist and Social Activism explores the roots of social activism as a means to empower students to become civically engaged.  This course addresses the fundamentals to social movements by examining methods to influencing social change through activism.  Social movements and current issues in women’s issues will be explored through the Social Change Model of Leadership Development.
