NUTR 4263 - Geriatric NutritionCIP Code 513101 3 Credit Hours Students focus on the physiological, psychological, social and financial aspects of aging that affect health and nutritional status. Students learn the impact of disease, disability and changing nutritional needs as well as screening and assessment tools to identify appropriate interventions to improve health and nutritional status. Students learn to apply legal and ethical considerations and consider government and community resources for positive outcomes. Prerequisite: NUTR 1653 Basic Nutrition, NUTR 3563 Fundamentals of Medical Nutrition Therapy, and NUTR 4853 Research Methods, all with a minimum grade of C.
