SOWK 4003 - Human Behavior in the Social Environment I CIP Code: 440701 Description: Students will learn an ecological model of human behavior as applied throughout the life cycle. Students will critically examine various theories of causation as they relate to functional and dysfunctional behaviors, and examine the impact of social stratification, especially by class, race, or sex on human behavior.
Credit Hours: 3 Prerequisite: SOWK 2013 Intro to Social Work and General or Human Biology (BIOL 1013/1011 Intro Biology I + Lab or BIOL 1023/1021 Intro Biology II + Lab or BIOL 1113/1111 Gen Biological Sci Lecture + Lab or BIOL 1114 Gen Biol Sci (includes lab) or BIOL 2154 Human Anatomy (includes lab). Concurrent enrollment in Biology is allowed. Restrictions: Social Work and Pre-Social work majors. LAS Course: Yes
