MATH 5233 - Data Analysis and Probability

Description: Students will analyze data using descriptive statistics to present data in graphical form, models of best fit, and regression analysis. Students will complete a project in which a question is asked, an experiment is designed, data is collected, and a statistical analysis, such as a hypothesis test, is performed.The course will highlight basic concepts of probability involving method selection, models, and measures of likelihood. In this course designed for mathematics teachers, the instructor will discuss relevant pedagogy for guiding, evaluating, and improving students’ learning.
