SPED 4213 - Foundations, Future Trends, and Current Issues in Special Education CIP Code: 131001 Description: Students identify contributions of historical features, legal aspects, analysis of current/future trends, and issues related to special education. Students also learn how to apply trauma-informed instruction strategies specifically for students with disabilities who have experienced trauma. An understanding of the characteristics of varying disabilities, student Individualized Education Programs (IEP), Response to Intervention (RTI), classroom assessment, IEP progress monitoring, and accountability assessment will also be addressed.
Credit Hours: 3 Lecture contact hours per week: 3 Restrictions: Minimum 2.50 GPA.
