ELED 4363 - Number Sense & Operations, Content & Pedagogy CIP Code: 131202 Description: Candidates explore the progression and intricacies of counting and rational number operations. Teacher candidates learn how to use drawings, manipulatives, line graphs, tape diagrams, and other instructional strategies to solve real-world problems. Candidates examine the connections among whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratios, rates, and proportions. This course emphasizes the development of conceptual knowledge over procedural knowledge in order to deepen the candidates’ understanding of number sense, operations of rational numbers, and mathematical learning needs of their future students.
Credit Hours: 3 Restrictions: Must have earned 45 credit hours.
